Megève, Cordon & Brigitte Bardot
Did you know that Brigitte Bardot fell under the spell of Cordon, a charming village in Haute-Savoie located only 12 kilometres from Megève?
In 1960, after having fled from the journalists in Megève, she took her car alone and drove a few kilometres into the night, looking for a hotel to take refuge in. Chance led her to the “Roches Fleuries”. It was only in the early hours of the morning, after a heavy snowfall, that she discovered an incredible panorama under a radiant sun. Seduced by this enchantment, she decided to stay in Cordon, the “Balcony of Mont Blanc”. She would return there for several years in a row, especially for her honeymoon.

Cordon could surely have had the same fate as Saint-Tropez, but the Cordonants preferred to preserve the authenticity of their charming village, judging that the success of this “starlet” would be ephemeral (!?). Cordon is a nugget, despite its proximity to the ski resorts and the glitz of Megève. You will still find there farms in activity which make the charm of the Savoyard villages.

Other personalities, too, have been under its spell: Jacques Chancel, Franck Fernandel, Louis de Funès, Roger Vadim, Sammy Frey... Take advantage of your stay in Megève to discover Cordon and its stunning view of the entire Mont Blanc Massif. Perhaps you will also succumb to this nugget? We will be delighted to welcome you for an unforgettable stay at Chalet les Cerises.
