The hammam is also and above all a moment of conviviality, the bench of this large cabin installed in the “Mont-Blanc” suite, accommodates three people. A large shower canopy, a shoulder waterfall and a shower head allow you to refresh yourself in complete serenity.

A steam bath for a new look

 

To get your hammam beauty ritual off to a good start, start by running a lukewarm or even cold bath to invigorate yourself after the hammam session. This coolness will be welcome to tighten your dilated pores. While the bath fills up, take a shower; this will get your skin used to the heat.

Start the steam generator, the ideal temperature of 50°C will be reached in a few tens of minutes, start to feel the benefits of the hammam; the heat and humidity facilitate breathing, activate the blood circulation and dilate the pores of the skin. If you can, add a few drops of essential oil, for example eucalyptus, which is very effective in clearing your sinuses.

Healthy, cleansed, regenerated and purified skin thanks to the hammam

The hammam: a treatment for body and mind

 

Breathe in and out deeply for about ten minutes to make this a perfect moment of relaxation. By concentrating on your breathing, you will be able to clear your thoughts. It's time to relax, our hammam cabins are equipped with a chromotherapy system, choose the colour blue to soothe you. A Bluetooth speaker is associated with the cabins, don't hesitate to listen to soothing music or even, why not, mantras to make this hammam session a real inner journey.

Remove your jewellery before entering the hammam cabin, watches will not appreciate the humid heat and metal accumulates heat (these precautions are even more justified if you use the sauna, the temperatures are higher there).

Take your time between steam baths

Don't hesitate to take a break and listen to your body. Refresh yourself often with the shower head, the shower tray or the waterfall. A first hammam session should not exceed 15 minutes.

Put on your bathrobe and stay outside the steam room for a while. Ideally, you should take a warm bath to bring your body temperature down and eliminate perspiration. The alternation of hot and cold has a deep effect on your body and helps to stimulate your immune system in a natural and invigorating way.

You can even optimise this vasodilatation and vasoconstriction phenomenon by bathing in cold water. The treatment will then be more energising than soothing.

Drink regularly, stay hydrated

Remember to dry off and take time to rest. If you can, go outside or open the window to breathe in the fresh air. This is the time to contemplate the breathtaking view of the village centre from the large panoramic terrace. This is a great time to pour yourself a peppermint or lavender infusion or a scented or detox tea to rehydrate. Take advantage of the wood stove to keep your kettle warm, you will appreciate the warm atmosphere of the flames. Iced water is not recommended for the internal organs, it is better to drink water at room temperature with a little lemon or grapefruit juice for example.

A body scrub to refine the skin texture

Then, return to the hammam, after about ten minutes of steam, the pores of your skin will open. Once dilated, this is the perfect time to start exfoliating the skin to remove all the impurities from the dead skin. The action of the black soap (Rhassoul) combined with the horsehair glove (Kessa) allows a deep exfoliation for the body and allows to eliminate impurities, dead cells and ingrown hairs. Rub in small circular motions, focusing on areas of thick skin such as elbows and heels. You will unclog pores, remove dead skin cells and refine your skin texture. Massage, leave on, then rinse thoroughly in the shower and exit the cabin as before.

My purifying anti-ageing routine that stimulates and deep cleanses

Take a deep breath and rest on a towel until your body temperature drops, it is considered that the resting time should be equivalent to the duration of the session. You can do this ritual three times, which is ideal. If you have the opportunity, alternate with a sauna session. But above all, don't force yourself at the beginning, if you don't feel perfectly well, tell yourself that it is better to shorten these first hammam sessions. Go out quietly and lie down to recover slowly, you will come back all the more easily next time.

Eucalyptus, lavender, pine, lemon, rosemary and orange are the star essential oils of hammam sessions. Not all of them have the same virtues and their use is not recommended for children and pregnant women.

Remember to rehydrate your skin too

 

After a final hammam session, all that remains is to moisturise your skin with a cream or vegetable oils such as argan oil, jojoba oil or coconut oil. Choose cosmetics made from natural products. A dab of shea butter is also very effective for beautiful skin. In addition to this great skin cleansing, 10 to 30 minutes of hammam will relax you deeply and improve your cell renewal.

Face and body, get clean skin

 

A real burst of radiance, the surface of the skin of the face will be luminous and hydrated. Particularly recommended for combination and oily skin, the humid heat of the traditional hammam is effective in eliminating toxins and limiting the excess sebum responsible for acne and blackheads. No more dull complexion and redness! A healthy glow, smooth skin and a radiant face are the result.

A gentle scrub suitable for all skin types

 

Don't hesitate to make it a beauty routine; deep cleansing the skin with a black soap scrub gently exfoliates to regenerate, stimulate, tone and smooth the body. Very effective in restoring soft skin, the purifying hammam scrub is suitable for both mature and acne-prone skin. The elimination of dead cells from the epidermis is a real plus to protect you from external aggressions and limit ageing by stimulating the elasticity of sensitive skin.

Don’t forget facials for a glowing complexion

For facials, choose a gentle exfoliating mask that is more suitable. A scrub or a clay mask would be suitable for a facial scrub. As always, choose a cosmetic based on natural plant-based ingredients, without parabens. White clay, pink clay, papaya, almond or apricot kernels, aloe vera, oats, chamomile, cucumber, witch hazel and more generally fruit acids have long been known to have cosmetic virtues.
